Instructional Design for E-Learning
In the Instructional Design course, we focused on the factors that must be considered when designing an online course while applying these pieces to the creation or transformation of our own course. Throughout this course, we participated in discussions and created lessons, activities and assessments that demonstrated our understanding of course design. We practiced using interaction with classmates, interaction with content, strategies for making sense of content, e-learning activities, activities for different learning styles, engaging learning experiences, and the use media while designing our course.
I transformed the face-to-face technology training we offer at the American School of Warsaw Elementary School and put it online so teachers and assistants could work through the training at their own pace. This course combines online learning with face-to-face instruction so it is a blended course and not fully online, although teachers could work through most of it independently. I am hoping to reach more of our teachers with this online option. The overall goal of the course is for teachers to be able to use the tools we have available to enhance student learning.
